Geothermal

How Does A Geothermal System Work?
The earth absorbs nearly 50% of all solar energy resulting in a constant temperature of about 45 degrees.
A Genz-Ryan geothermal comfort system exchanges energy with the earth to heat and cool your home. Fluids are circulated through a series of sealed pipes buried near your home. In the winter, the circulating fluids absorb the heat of the earth. The heat is delivered to a unit inside your home where it is compressed to a higher temperature and sent as warm air throughout your home.
In the summer, the system reverses and removes heat from your home to deliver it to the cooler earth below.
Genz-Ryan can install a geothermal system in new construction, an existing home on rural acreage and an existing home on even the smallest city lots.
The Benefits of Geothermal Systems

Geothermal Is More Than Just Warm and Cool Air In Your Home
A geothermal comfort system can provide heat to in-floor heating systems, pools, spas and melt the ice or snow off your driveway. It even provides virtually free hot water. Your Genz-Ryan comfort representative will show you all the ways that you can benefit from geothermal technology.
The Environmental protection Agency (EPA) says that geothermal comfort systems are the most environmentally safe, cost effective heating and cooling system available. There is no flame, no flue, no odor and no carbon monoxide. Geothermal uses renewable energy helping you reduce your carbon footprint for future generations.

Geothermal heat pump systems use 25-50% Less electricity than conventional residential heating and cooling systems.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, geothermal heat pumps can save homeowners 30 to 70 percent on heating and 20 to 50 percent on cooling costs over conventional systems.
Geothermal systems are the most energy efficient, environmentally friendly, and cost effective comfort systems available.
Homeowners who install geothermal systems may be able to claim up to 30% of the installed cost in tax credits in the year the system is placed into service. (Capped at $2000 for system installed in 2008 - No cap for 2009 and beyond).
